Fresh cuts, friendly faces, right on your doorstep every week.

Meet Mark Pater, the passionate owner of Mark's Mobile Butchers. Mark has been in the industry for over 7 years and you won't find your sausages served with a side of cheeky banter anywhere else!
"My name is Mark, but I'm known as Marky, 32, but looking younger of course! Father to 3 beautiful girls and I do love a game of Darts!"
If you come along to Yeovil, The Great Lyde Pub on a Wednesday morning you can hear the native Bristolian twang of 'Gurt Lush' along with snagging some great deals on produce that you won't find in the Supermarkets. With a range of produce from marinated Chicken fillets to premium sausages and fantastic cuts of pork, lamb and chicken.
But this isn't any ordinary Butchers van. Popping down to the van myself to interview Mark for the post, not only is there an excellent community vibe, with a friendly manner unrivalled by the expressionless supermarkets, I watched as the team at the van knocked up their own flavoured burgers, expertly seasoning and shaping them into the perfect rounds.
Then, firing up a portable hob, they filled the streets with the smell of deliciousness and rustled up some taste testers! Needless to say, that got the locals out of bed!

Imagine....Walking by on a dreary November morning, and suddenly you are transported back to the summer, to a time of BBQ's and garden gatherings, Pimms and football, by the fabulous smell of sizzling burgers, wafting towards you on the breeze. Now, read that again and tell me you're not already there in your mind, on the deckchair with the burger buns ready and the ketchup on standby.
Mark's Mobile Butchers has become a very important part of The Great Lyde community! But, we can't keep him all week! Covering Weymouth, Bridgend and Mountain Ash as well as Yeovil, he certainly gets about with his sausages!
But between the banter and comedy spirit at the van, there is a passion for delivering not just great quality but amazing customer service.
"My customers aren't just customers. I class them all as friends because without them, I wouldn't be able to do what I do. So a Big Thanks to all of you who come down and see me!"

Running regular competitions and giveaways, this really is a business with community at its heart. Posting on Social Media platforms, Mark regularly interacts with his customers and uses his social media for regular updates on locations of the van, giveaways such as the excellent Breakfast Pack - Which followers can be in with the chance of winning just by watching his Live Facebook videos.
Spending the morning at the van, drinking Pumpkin Spiced Latte's, (which went down a storm with the lads and now they are hooked!) taking pictures of the produce and observing everything from selling tactics, to cooking al fresco, to customer interaction, it was a joy to see an independent business make such an impression on a community, After just 5 months at The Great Lyde, Mark has build a loyal customer base and filled the fridges and freezers for the good people of Yeovil.
You'll often find his dad down there on a Wednesday, giving his son a hand catching the meat! Quite the comedy duo, He's full of banter and stories...You can tell the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
"We call him Kenco....because of the amount of coffee breaks!"
You can tell that this father and son duo, amongst the witty one-liners and jokes, are passionate about what they do, whatever their location!
One of the most frequently asked questions is usually around seasonal produce. Mark can confidently confirm that there will be Turkey for Christmas! And after eyeing up the produce myself, I can confidently report I have seen Stuffing Balls with my own eyes!

But it's not all beef burgers and lamb shanks! For the cheese lover, there is the most enticing selection of cheeses, from blocks of tangy Calveley Mill cheddar, to Brockmoor's Cheese selection wheel, featuring 8 different varieties of cheese in a beautifully hand-crafted wheel, with varieties including Garlic and Herb Cheddar, Double Gloucester Chives and Onion and a vibrantly coloured Smoked Cheddar.
So, if you are a cheese lover, a roast-every-Sunday type, or you just fancy a bloody good burger on a Friday night, make sure to pay the van a visit! You won't be disappointed!
